I’m moving!

2010.07.05

Allot can happen in… what, 8 months?  It’s really been that long since I’ve updated my blog eh?  I’m sorry…  I really am…

So, what’s happened? Well, on the day after Valentines day, I got engaged. I know right?  Whoda thunk it would ever happen…  Well, I asked Felyne to marry me, and she said yes! She’s the most amazing person on earth, and makes me truly happy!  So, let’s see, what else, I’m working from home now, which is nice.  I just have to remember to shower once a week or so (kidding).  Oh, and, I’m moving!  That’s right, I’m moving.  In 5 days, I’m heading off with Felyne on a 2,000+ mile adventure to start the rest of my life with the person I love.  I’m so excited! I can’t wait!

Other than that, I don’t know what else to say.  I’m beyond excited, and beyond in love. When I say Felyne is the most amazing person ever, I truly mean it from the bottom of my heart.  It’s odd for me to say, but, it’s very true.  It’s also part of the reason I haven’t blogged much.  I mean, other than her, not many people at all read this.  And, she already knows I love her, knows I work from home, and know I’m moving, so…. yeah….

Anyways, I guess that’s it for now.  I’ll try to post more, but, not making any promises at all.  Hope all is well.

9-11

2009.09.11

I know I haven’t blogged in a long time, for this I’m sorry to both of you that read my posts =P

Today is one of those historic days, when everyone you know will eventually ask the question “Where were you when the towers fell”  just like people ask “Where were you when Kennedy was shot”.  It’s a sad bringing together of Americans, and some non-Americans alike.  Almost everyone I know was affected by September 11th, 2001 in some way.  Almost everyone I know, remembers where they were, and what they were doing when they heard.  Myself? I was asleep when I was awoken by a phone call saying I have to turn on the TV “RIGHT NOW”.

I was working nights at the time, and remember thinking, as I sat watching the news, that this must be a dream.  I remember going back to bed after the second tower fell, and waking up, thinking “that was the strangest dream I’ve ever had”.  Unfortunately, it wasn’t a dream at all.  It was an event that changed America forever.  It wasn’t the first time we’ve been attacked by terrorists, and in fact, it’s not the first time we’ve been attacked by terrorists on our own soil.  It was however, the first time that most of America realized that we are NOT immune to this kind of thing.  It’s a sad realization.

It was today, 8 years ago, that nearly 3,000 people from 90 countries lost their lives.  Take a moment to let that sink in… 3 THOUSAND people… NINETY countries… This wasn’t just an attack on America, though, we were without a doubt the target of the attack.  And, it was also not just New York.  It was also Virginia at the Pentagon, and Pennsylvania near Shanksville.  This was not just two towers falling in NYC, this was people losing their lives, for doing nothing more than getting up and going to work that morning, or hopping on a plane to see loved ones, or just be walking down the street.

There was also those heroes.  Those that willing ran into a burning, collapsing building, that others might be saved.  There are those that dragged people from the carnage that was that once peaceful day.  It’s hard to believe, looking back, that before those planes crashed, September 11th 2001 was just like any other day.  It was nothing special until some scumbags decided to turn it into a day of terror, a day that will live in infamy forever.

My thoughts and prayers go out to the victims of 9/11 and their families.  Not only today, but everyday.  This is not some holiday to be thought about once a year, but, a reminder of what we should remember EVERYDAY.  Let this day, as other days of consequence that have gone before today be remembered forever.  Let our flags that mean so much to us, fly free.  And, let us never forget what it means to be free, and what it has cost us for that freedom.  God Bless America!

Why?

Because I saw this, and laughed my ass off…  Probably the funniest thing I’ve seen in a month…

Recognize this?

2009.07.20

That’s right, the Blue Angels.  This past weekend, I went with Felyne to see the Thunder Over Michigan airshow.  IT.WAS.AMAZING.  I had an absolute blast!  Not only did I see (and meet/shake hands with) the Blue Angels, I also got to see a Lancaster fly!  One of only TWO in the world that still fly.  Let me tell you, she was amazing to see in flight!

There was everything at this show, from WWII bombers and fighters, to modern day aircraft, including the stealth bomber.

It’s the first time I’ve seen a jet this close, and not been able to hear it.  AMAZING.

I had SUCH an amazing time.  And, I had the best hostess ever. Felyne knew all about the planes, and was *SUPER* geeked about the Lancaster  (I’ll admit, I grew to love the lancaster).  I have a few photos posted on my gallery (link is below the images below).

I must admit though, the best part of the whole weekend, was seeing my girl.  I can’t wait to see her again, and I wish the weekends we have together, would last an eternity.  She made the whole weekend amazing.

There will be more photos to follow, as soon as I’m able to get them all edited.  Overall, I took 1,189 photos this weekend, so, it’s going to take a while to sort them all out ;)
